How to get 32-bit or 64-bit kernel information?

Linux

uname -a displays the string X86_64 in case of a 64-bit kernel

AIX

bootinfo -K displays 64 in case of a 64-bit kernel.

Windows

If there are directories system and system32 within your Windows installation directory e.g. C:\Windows\ you have a 32-bit system. If you see the directories system32 and SysWOW64 you have a 64-bit system. Further information can be found at Microsoft.
