Cologne Innovation Prize for Peter Tass and ANM

Prof. Peter Tass from the Jülich Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine and ANM, a medical technology spin-off of Forschungszentrum Jülich, received this year's Nicolaus August Otto Prize for Innovation of the City of Cologne.

The first prize worth € 15,000 was awarded for the “development of a platform technology in the area of neuromodulation for the treatment of widespread diseases such as Parkinson's disease, tinnitus or chronic pain”.

The City of Cologne described the invention and development of the Coordinated Reset (CR)® neuromodulation by Tass and ANM as a “scientific breakthrough” in the treatment of diseases characterized by a pathological synchronization of neuron clusters in the brain.
