Different Metal, Same Bond

30 July 2015 – For some athletes, only gold counts. The market value also shows large differences between gold and silver as well as copper, the third noble metal, which completes the group of coinage metals. However, when it comes to interaction with organic molecules, they act completely differently. For them, the different coinage metals seem to be equally attractive, as scientists from Forschungszentrum Jülich together with researchers from the Berlin Fritz Haber Institute and Heidelberg University were able to show.
