Energy Research Treading New Paths

Jülich, 14 December 2016 – Forschungszentrum Jülich, the University of Münster (WWU), and the University of Siegen are investigating the provision and utilization of energy as part of a unique cooperation. In addition to aspects related to engineering and natural sciences, there is also a particular focus on social, cultural, and ethical issues. The research cooperation is being provided with € 500,000 in funding over a period of three years from the Ministry of Innovation, Science, Research and Technology (MIWFT) of the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). The interdisciplinary cooperation was launched during the conference “Between technology and society. Responsible energy use: radical changes and prospects”, which took place on 9 December 2016 at the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities and the Arts in Düsseldorf.
