Jülich Early-Career Scientists Runners-Up in AC² Competition

Smart sensors for food packaging

Jülich, 6 June 2017 – Jülich early-career scientists Dr. Alexey Yakushenko, Jan Hendrik Schnitker, and Dr. Marcel Grein claimed second place and € 7,500 in prize money at this year’s AC² competition for new start-ups. The interdisciplinary team from the Bioelectronics subinstitute (PGI-8/ICS-8) developed an electrochemical sensor for food packaging which can determine the freshness of food in real time.
