Georgia and Forschungszentrum Jülich Seek Cooperation in Supporting Young Scientists

Jülich, 5 June 2018 –The continued development of the Georgian–German Science Bridge was a central aspect of a Georgian delegation’s visit to Forschungszentrum Jülich on Monday. Mikheil Chkhenkeli, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Elguja Khokrishvili, Ambassador to Germany, and Alexander Tsiskaridze, Vice Rector of Tbilisi State University (TSU), discussed with Prof. Wolfgang Marquardt, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and other representatives of Forschungszentrum Jülich the possibilities of a closer cooperation on the issue of supporting young scientists. In addition, Karl Sobotta, head of the Jülich schools laboratory JuLab, offered an insight into the work of his institution on campus and its four state-of-the-art experiment labs. A fundamental objective of JuLab is to get young people interested in science at an early age as well as to provide impetus in choosing a career.
