Jülich Delegation visited Vietnam University (VNU) in Hanoi

28. März 2017. A delegation from Forschungszentrum Jülich headed by Prof. Sebastian Schmidt (Board of Directors) visited the University of Science which belongs to VNU on February 24, 2017 on the occasion of a reception and a workshop held at the start of a co-directorship of Prof. Paolo Carloni and Prof. Nguyen The Toan at the VNU KeyLab on Multiscale Simulations of Complex Systems.

The program started with welcome meetings with Prof. Nguyen Huu Duc, Vice-President of VNU and with Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Noi, the Rector of the VNU- University of Science.

Prof. Duc presented an overview of the history of the University of Science, its scale and strengths in training and scientific research. Besides its universities and research centres VNU runs seven key laboratories. Being one of them the KeyLab on Multiscale Simulations of Complex Systems is the most latest and has got great financial support.

At the meeting, Prof. Schmidt and Prof. Duc discussed issues to further foster joint research projects in topics of interest for Jülich and VNU, and possible exchange of students from Vietnam to Juelich.

At the end of the meeting, Rector Van Noi thanked the Jülich delegation for their interest in the University of Science and offered to sign a memorandum of Understanding in the near future in order to open opportunities for cooperation between Jülich scientists and VNU partners (ABK/GL).
