Looking Back at Open Day in the Central Library
The Central Library (ZB) also opened its doors to the general public as part of Open Day on 29 September.
ZB showcased its range of services with ten different activities, including some specially tailored to attract families with children.
While some young children enjoyed listening to stories in the reading corner, others had their faces painted. School children and retired members of staff were particularly interested in the ZB's Internet portal and the technology on which it is based.
The mini-workshop on social media provided information on uses and abuses of online networking. Visitors were given the opportunity to ask questions about all aspects of information literacy.
This time around, the second-hand book sale also included board games and managed to raise €173 for the 'Kleine Füchse' day-care centre.
We would like to thank all the members of staff at Forschungszentrum Jülich and their families who visited us on Open Day, and we look forward to welcoming them back at the next opportunity.Open Day at the Central Library of Forschungszentrum Jülich
