Current research:

I am currently studying the buckling instability of a growing monolayer of cells by means of particle-based simulations. I am interested in the interaction of pressure-dependent growth and the dynamics of the evolving buckling pattern.

In a second project I investigate the growth of bacterial colonies in microfluidic devices. I want to understand the relationship between different feeding levels and resulting biomass production by analysis of bacterial flow patterns in microchannels.
