By modelling approach we investigate the mechanisms of the emergence and properties of collective dynamics of neuronal networks in the brain. We are in particular interested in the interrelation between dynamics and structure of neuronal populations and their dependence and impact on healthy and diseased states. Modelling description can be used to extent the space of features and parameters for a better understanding and classification of the phenomena observed in experimental and clinical studies. We thus closely relate the results of the model and data analyses. We also develop and computationally optimize novel brain stimulation techniques for counteraction of abnormal neuronal synchronization characteristic for several neurological disorders.
