Petrol from Green Electricity and CO2
SunFire project launched
Jülich, 30 May 2012 – The SunFire collaborative project aims to develop an innovative method of utilizing renewable energies in order to produce highly efficient fuels such as petrol, diesel and kerosene from carbon dioxide. The core process is high-temperature steam electrolysis for the production of hydrogen from steam. Thomas Rachel, Member of the Bundestag and Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), visited Forschungszentrum Jülich today for the project launch and presented the grant notification.
