Ultrafast Spin Current Pulses Brought under Control
On the way to terahertz data processing
Jülich, 8 April 2013 – An international team of researchers has discovered a way of generating extremely short and fast pulses from spin currents in a controlled manner. Using such pulses in the terahertz frequency range, future computers could process data faster and with greater energy efficiency than presently possible. The results have been published in the current issue of the journal Nature Nanotechnology (DOI: 10.1038/NNANO.2013.43).
