An up-to-date view of the relationship between scientists, journalists, and the general public
Jülich, 12 August 2013 – Web 2.0 and social media are changing the nature of the dialogue between scientists and the general public. Will scientists use these new opportunities to engage with the general public directly in future? Would this give lay people more insfluence, with science journalism becoming less significant as a link between the two groups? Jülich communication scientist Prof. Hans Peter Peters is sceptical. He has published an article about the current state of the art in the scientific journal PNAS.
