Helmholtz Institute Erlangen-Nürnberg Established
Cooperation between Helmholtz centres in Jülich and Berlin and University of Erlangen-Nürnberg on research into renewable energies
Jülich/Nuremberg, 20 August 2013 – Renewable energies have a pivotal role to play in ensuring the successful transformation of the energy sector in Germany. In order to meet the grand challenges in research and development, Forschungszentrum Jülich has joined forces with Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) to establish a Helmholtz institute specializing in renewable energies. The cooperation agreement between the three partners was signed in Nuremberg today in the presence of Federal Minister of Education and Research Prof. Johanna Wanka and three members of the Bavarian state government.
