Jülich Research for “Franconia’s Adriatic”

Jülich, 31 July 2014 – The algae problem at the Altmühlsee lake in the Franconian Lake District of northern Bavaria can be effectively combated in the coming years thanks to a study by Forschungszentrum Jülich. Scientists from Agrosphere at the Institute of Bio- and Geosciences investigated the reasons behind the phenomenon that keeps on making the headlines: phosphate pollution. The Jülich study has now established the principal cause – agricultural activity in the lake basin.
