Brain Research and the Digital Future of Europe

Human Brain Project presented at the Tallinn Digital Summit

Tallinn/Jülich, 29 September 2017 – The heads of state and heads of government within the EU discussed the future of the digital world at the Tallinn Digital Summit in Estonia on Friday. As part of a VIP tour of an accompanying technology exhibition, Prof. Katrin Amunts presented the Human Brain Project, which has been systematically networking neuroscience and information technologies since 2013, to the European leaders. The brain researcher is the scientific head of the project and a director at the Jülich Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine (INM-1). She presented three different areas: the design of a digital 3D brain atlas for research and clinics, brain-inspired computing, and neurorobotics.
