40 Years of Biotechnology at Forschungszentrum Jülich – A Success Story

Jülich, 28 September 2017 – Important discoveries, countless prizes, millions in funding, and successful spin-offs: there are many reasons for staging an official ceremony to celebrate the 40-year anniversary of the Institute of Biotechnology at Forschungszentrum Jülich. “Biotechnology is a key discipline for sustainable economic activity. Throughout four decades of research in the field of white biotechnology, Jülich has developed into a centre with outstanding expertise. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) has supported Jülich researchers along the way and will continue to do so,” said Thomas Rachel (Member of the German Bundestag), Parliamentary State Secretary at the ministry and keynote speaker at the anniversary ceremony during this year’s Jülich Biotech Day.
