Forschungszentrum Jülich’s Nitrogen Oxide Plotter

New online tool provides answers: How high are local pollution levels? To what extent do we need to reduce traffic emissions?

Jülich, 29 January 2019 – First software updates, then vehicle bans: excessive nitrogen oxide values in cities have been making the headlines lately. Scientists from Forschungszentrum Jülich have now developed a nitrogen oxide plotter that allows you to quickly and easily find out the nitrogen oxide levels at all German measurement stations over time. The online tool is freely accessible at https://stickoxid-rechner.de and also shows the extent to which nitrogen oxide emissions from traffic sources need to be reduced in order to comply with the statutory limit values. The plotter is based on the official values measured by the German Environment Agency (UBA).
