scientist (f/m), Biophysics

Advertising institute: ICS-7 - Biomechanics
Reference number: 2013-228

Research at the Institute of Complex Systems 7: Biomechanics, Research Center Jülich (FZJ), aims at a quantitative understanding of mechanobiological processes with high physiological and pathological relevance. To this end animal cells are investigated with modern methods of cell biophysics and cell biology. At present, research focuses on cell adhesion, contraction and locomotion as well as on cellular mechanoresponse. These processes are mostly determined by cell membrane, adhesion structures, and cell cytoskeleton. Therefore these structures are intensely investigated. The institute's staff is drawn from physics, biology and chemistry. For more details see
