The newly founded Helmholtz-Institute Muenster - Ionics in Energy Storage (HI MS) is as IEK-12 a part of Forschungszentrum Jülich. It provides a considerable boost to research in energy storage as one of the central issues involved in the successful transformation of the energy sector and in the expansion of electromobility. The institute pools the expertise of Forschungszentrum Jülich, RWTH Aachen University, and the University of Münster in battery research. Beyond chemical and engineering research in order to improve battery performance, HI MS tackles innovation management topics in the field of energy storage, e.g. the anticipation of technological developments, industrial application of R&D outcomes and successful collaboration of science and industry.

Postdoc in Innovation Management with focus on Energy Storage

Your Job:

  • Research in the fields of knowledge and technology transfer and/or industry convergence and value chain evolution with focus on energy storage
  • Designing and implementing an innovation process for HI MS to support decision making which research endeavors are worthwhile to pursue
  • Publishing in international, peer-reviewed journals
  • Substituting and supporting the group leader
  • Presenting your work at national and international conferences
  • Supervision of PhD and master students

Your Profile:

  • University degree and PhD in Innovation Management, Management or a related discipline
  • Excellent track record in publishing in peer-reviewed journals
  • A strong background in applying qualitative and quantitative methods of social science research, e.g. structural equation modelling, qualitative content analysis, or patent analysis.
  • Excellent cooperation and communication skills and ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to show initiative and work independently
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and orally
