Instrument Scientist for Polarized Diffuse Scattering Time-of-Flight Neutron Spectrometer DNS, Postdoc in Physics or Materials Physics

Advertising institute: JCNS - Jülich Centre for Neutron Science
Reference number: 2017-228

The Jülich Centre for Neutron Science (JCNS) operates at the Heinz-Maier-Leibnitz-Zentrum (MLZ) in Garching near Munich a suite of high performance neutron scattering instruments. It provides access to these instuments for scientists from universities and research institutions in Germany and throughout the world. Within the user program more than 1000 scientists visit the MLZ every year to perform experiments in the physical, chemical, biological and materials sciences. In addition, JCNS is actively pursuing a research program in the field of soft matter science and condensed matter physics.

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoc to join the team of the polarized diffuse scattering time-of-flight neutron spectormeter DNS as an instrument scientist to support the user operation and further instrument developments, and to actively perform own research in close cooperation with the JCNS Institute JCNS-2 in the fields of frustated magnets and topological quantum materials, nanomagnetism and functional correlated electron materials.

We are looking to recruit as soon as possible an
