Abstract:
The current impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in a wide variety of scientific, engineering, industrial, and commercial disciplines is enormous, and the field is evolving rapidly and dynamically, thanks to the availability of large data sets (big data) and computing technologies to handle them. In this context, the fishing industry has been a labor-intensive industry in the past. The pressure for automation through AI methods is increasing in the current climate. Recent developments in industrial vision systems and robotics have made the automation of tasks such as grading, portioning and removal of bones possible. The solutions are usually structured as a vision system on a conveyor with a robot arm or a mechanical system that performs a task. This talk will review the role of AI in this field, the methods used and current challenges. Also, a short outlook is provided in another area where AI is applied as part of the just started ON4OFF project that uses machine learning and deep learning to enable a better Online-Offline shopping experience for customers in retail.
