Electrons traveling through molecules in motion:
theoretical and computational analysis

In this talk, I will review several methods and applications concerning the calculation of electron transport through single molecules, in the presence of mechanical excitations and without. In our group we have developed tools for performing calculations in the weak and strong coupling regime. I will show results of our calculations and compare them to experimental molecular junctions. Finally, I will discuss a theoretical proposal for a molecular motor and its possible use as an electron shuttle.
