Division Civil Security and Traffic

The division is composed of scientists from mathematics, physics, computer sciences and engineering. This interdisciplinary team focuses on models and simulations of complex systems with applications in civil security and traffic planning. We perform experiments and refine the methods of data capturing and data analysis to support the developments of reliable models usable for security-related applications. In combination with high performance computing we are able to tackle challenges in the simulation of large systems using high fidelity models.

The division is closely linked to the
"Department of Computer Simulation for Fire Safety and Pedestrian Traffic"
at the University of Wuppertal.

Head of the division: Prof. Dr. Armin Seyfried
