Fast and Innovative: Jülich Supercomputer is a New Development from Europe
Jülich/Frankfurt, 25 June 2018 – When it comes to developing innovative supercomputer architectures, Europe is about to take the lead. A striking example of this is the new supercomputer that is due to start user operation Jülich in the next few days. JUWELS is a milestone on the road to a new generation of ultraflexible modular supercomputers. With its first module alone, JUWELS qualified as the best German computer for the TOP500 List of the fastest supercomputers in the world published today.

Extreme Data Workshop 2018
Let's face the challenges of extreme data! Exascale computing will require exascale data handling. Earth system sciences and other application areas (e.g. astrophysics, genomics, photon science) are facing rapidly growing challenges due to the fact that observation systems and numerical models are producing data of unprecedented volumes and at unprecedented rates. This workshop will bring together scientists from different fields to discuss the challenges of extreme data demands, technology and services.
