Modules for Safe Events

Jülich, 5 March 2012 – More safety at major events by providing systematic assistance with preparation and implementation – this is the goal of the project “Building Blocks for Safety at Major Events” (BaSiGo). The project was launched by Thomas Rachel, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, who presented the project partners – including Forschungszentrum Jülich and fire brigades from Berlin and Düren – with the first documents guaranteeing funding. Researchers Want to Simulate Human Brain


Berlin / Jülich, 11 May 2011 – The detailed biological simulation of the entire human brain – that is the goal of the "Human Brain Project". In Berlin, scientists from Lausanne, Jülich, Munich and Heidelberg presented their contributions to this ambitious project on 11 May. The project is competing with five others for recognition as an EU FET Flagship initiative – large-scale, science-driven projects that aim to achieve a visionary technological goal.
