  • positioning of the target plant or pot in a microwave resonator
  • acquisition of resonance frequency shift


Data analysis

  • biomass: determination of biomass increase dynamics via shoot water content correlation
  • soil water: regulation of soil water content setpoint via absolute water measurement in pot

Results (example)

Continuous non-invasive measurement of fresh weight to monitor diurnal growth of an intact tomato plant over a period of 4 d and. Air temperature and relative humidity were monitored in parallel. Grey areas indicate dark periods.
