The Institute for Neutron Scattering belongs to the Institute of Complex Systems (ICS) as well as the Jülich Centre for Neutron Science (JCNS).
It pursues reserach activities as well as the development and operation of neutron scattering facilities.
Our research activities are mainly related to Soft Matter. As such they are thematically located in the Institute of Complex Systems (ICS).
The Jülich Centre for Neutron Science (JCNS) has been founded in 2006 by the Institut for Neutron Scattering and the Institute for Scattering Methods (now: JCNS-2/PGI-4) Scattering Methods to bundle the construction and operation activities out instruments at ther research reactor FRM II in Munich, the spallation source SNS in Oak Ridge (USA) and at the research reactor of the ILL, Grenoble (France).
