Non-equilibrium phase transitions and pattern formation in concentrated suspensions of rod-like fd-viruses in external electric fields are studied.
Moreover, a versatile analytic theory has been developed allowing for the calculation of the conductivity and electrophoretic ion mobilities in concentrated electrolyte solutions.

Conductivity and Viscosity of Electrolyte Solutions
We have derived a unifying mode-coupling theory (MCT) method of calculating the linear transport properties of concentrated strong electrolyte solutions. Predictions using this method are in excellent agreement with experimental data.
