ZeuS-III

Cell and stack development

Kassette-ZEUS

In the collaborative project on cell and stack development (ZeuS III), the industrial partners ElringKlinger, BMW, CeramTec and ThyssenKrupp are further developing reliable SOFC light-weight stacks for use in on-board power systems (auxiliary power units; APUs). Industrialization processes are taking place within the companies and at the same time solutions are being developed to address unresolved issues of basic research in close cooperation with industry and the R&D partners (Forschungszentrum Jülich, DLR Stuttgart, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology). At Forschungszentrum Jülich, research and development focuses on increased power density of cells in the stack, stack design and testing, as well as joining techniques.
