Urban Climate Under Change - Stadtklima im Wnadel

"Urban Climate Change" [UC]² is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The aim is the development of a city climate model, which is supposed to be able to solve atmospheric processes at building-resolved resolution, with mesh widths of 10 m or finer. The funding measure starts on June 1st, 2016 and includes four compound projects with 30 subprojects for model development (module A), observation data (module B) and practicality (module C).

The funding measure lasts three years and has a funding volume of 13 million Euros.

Measurements with the mobile laboratory MOBILAB a part of module B. In eight intensive measuring campaigns In Berlin and Stuttgart spatially highly resolved data are obtained, which are used for model validation, determination of emission factors and quality assurance of the measurements.
