Simulation of Atmospheric PHotochemistry In a large Reaction Chamber

The large atmosphere simulation chamber SAPHIR provides a platform for reproducible studies of well-defined atmospheric-chemical mechanisms. The high purity das supply and the unique analytical tools available at IEK-8 allow us to operate SAPHIR a low, near natural concentrations of trace gases. SAPHIR well suited to examine the atmospheric degradation of biogenic and anthropogenic trace gases and the build-up  of secondary particles and pollutants. The chamber provides a basis for many co-operations with universities, research centers, and industrial partners.
