The Jülich Centre for Neutron Science, Forschungszentrum Jülich in cooperation with the University of Münster (Institut für Physikalische Chemie) organizes a biannual one-week block course, “Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics” within the IHRS BioSoft.
The course will cover the following topics:
- Basic properties of polymers
- Basic polymer synthesis
- Polymer characterisation
- Basic experimental techniques
- Polymer conformation and scaling
- Thermodynamics of blends and solutions
- Rheology and viscoelasticity
- Polymer dynamics
- Glass transition
- Rubber elasticity
- Polymer crystallisation
- Biopolymers: structure and dynamics
The course will take place in Jülich and will consist of 4 hours of lectures each day, accompanied by exercises and laboratory visits. On request, lectures and exercises will be in English.
Please send your requests for registration to Ms. Laura Diart (firstname.lastname@example.org) before July 20, 2014. Please use the subject, “request participation: Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics 2014” and indicate the subject of your MSc study when you apply. Participation will be confirmed on July 25 following to the order in that we receive the registration emails.
