What can Neuromorphic Computing and HPC learn from each other?

Eu BrainScaleS project workshop at the Forschungszentrum Jülich (Germany), INM-6 seminar room, Bldg 15.22, 2nd floor

Organized by Jülich Theory Group and Manchester SpiNNaker Group.

Local organizers:

Jochen Martin Eppler (INM, Forschungszentrum Jülich)

Markus Diesmann (INM, Forschungszentrum Jülich)

This is a small workshop of people from the NEST Initiative, the Jülich Supercomputing Center, and the SpiNNaker group at Manchester University. The aim of the workshop is to explore future fields for collaborations between the group and mutual information exchange on the communication hard- and software that is used in the different systems. In detail, we want to

1. Assess the differences and similarities between HPC and SpiNNaker communication hardware and what both can learn from each other

2. Learn about the model requirements for SpiNNaker and if it is possible to share and exchange parts of the code base between NEST and SpiNNaker.

Guests are welcome.
