Spyke Viewer: A flexible and extensible tool for visualization and analysis of electrophysiological data

Spyke Viewer is a multi-platform, open source GUI application for navigating, analyzing and visualizing electrophysiological datasets from experiments or simulations. It is designed to be user friendly, flexible and easily extensible. Spyke Viewer is based on Python and the Neo framework, enabling it to load a wide variety of electrophysiological data formats. All analysis algorithms are based around the Neo object model, enabling effortless sharing of new analyses written using Spyke Viewer. An embedded Python console allows for interactive work, while a plugin system and an integrated editor enable users to enhance the functionality of Spyke Viewer within minutes. Proprietary data formats can be loaded by implementing an IO plugin.
