The Bernstein Coordination Site (BCOS) is the national and international representation of the Bernstein Network Computational Neuroscience. BCOS serves as a connecting link to funding agencies, industrial partners and the political institutions. It facilitates scientific encounter and supports Bernstein scientists in their joint activities and networking.

Through central public relations work and outreach to a general public the high visibility of the Bernstein Network is maintained. BCOS manages the annual Bernstein Conference, one of the largest conferences for computational neuroscience in Europe.
Since 2015 BCOS is a branch office of the Forschungszentrum Jülich at the University of Freiburg.
