By means of mathematics and physics, we develop therapies for brain diseases.
By methods of mathematics and physics we develop stimulation techniques which counteract pathological synchronization by unlearning pathological connectivity by utilizing self-organization mechanisms and plasticity rules of the nervous system. This led inter alia to the development of the Coordinated Reset (CR®) platform Technology which is protected via a broad patent portfolio. CR® can be applied by different stimulation modes (eg, invasive CR® deep brain stimulation or non-invasive acoustic CR®-stimulation) In the framework of industry collaborations we develop prototypes of medical devices for the CR® therapy of several neurological and psychiatric diseases and perform or coordinate First in Man-, Approval- and Post Marketing studies.
Besides experimental and clinical studies, we extensively work on theoretical issues of stimulation related dynamics and the corresponding relevant data analysis.
