JCNS Workshop 2013

Trends and Perspectives in Neutron Scattering: Magnetism and Correlated Electron Systems

7-10 October 2013, Tutzing, Germany

Excursion and Dinner

The afternoon and evening of October 9, 2013 are reserved for an excursion and subsequently the workshop dinner.

Around 1910 famous painters like Wassily Kandinsky, Franz Marc, Alexej Jawlensky and Gabriele Münter visited and settled  in the foothills of the Alps south of Munich and, inspired by the beautiful landscape, created numerous paintings forming the roots of modern art at least in Germany.

For the excursion we will take a bus from Tutzing to make a ride to the village of Murnau and visit the Schlossmuseum including a guided tour.
http://www.murnau.de/de/schlossmuseum_p2 (in German only).

After this you may stroll through Murnau with its colorful houses and approach the „Griesbräu“ at the upper end of the pedestrian area for the workshop dinner. This restaurant and micro brewery serves original bavarian food like roasted suckling pig and fish from the local lakes and home-brewed beer. The recently renovated “Gewölbesaal” is a picturesque ambient for the workshop dinner.
