User Information

The Jülich Centre for Neutron Science JCNS offers access to dedicated neutron scattering instruments at:

Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum (MLZ) in Garching, Germany,

Institute Laue Langevin (ILL) in Grenoble, France,

Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) in Oak Ridge, USA.

In order to apply for beam time, you are invited to submit a proposal. The MLZ international panel reviews the submitted proposals twice per year, and recommends the beam time allocation on the basis of their scientific merit. JCNS offers beam time at its MLZ instruments to scientists from all over the world regardless of the country in which they are conducting their research, while beam time at the ILL and SNS instruments is provided to German affiliated users only.

The next deadline for proposal submissions is

11 September 2015

for JCNS instruments at the ILL, MLZ and SNS. Based on these calls for proposals, beam time will be likely allocated in the first half of 2016.
