Jülich Supercomputing Centre provides supercomputer resources, IT tools, methods and knowhow for the Research Centre Jülich and for European users through the John von Neumann Institute for Computing. It operates the central supercomputers and server systems as well as the campus-wide computer networks and communication systems.
The Jülich Supercomputing Centre is integrated as a division into the newly founded Institute for Advanced Simulation.

JSC will once again be hosting its guest student programme from 2 August to 8 October 2010. Students are encouraged to apply for the programme in writing by 30 April 2010.

C²A²S²E and JSC Cooperate to Create "Digital Aircraft"
Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) and Forschungszentrum Jülich signed a cooperation agreement on "Numerical simulations for aeronautical research on supercomputers" in January 2010. This agreement will be the formal basis for joint research activities by the Center for Computer Applications in AeroSpace Science and Engineering (C²A²S²E) and JSC.

LOFAR Antenna Array in Jülich
Low Frequency Array (LOFAR) is an international project to build and operate an interferometric array of radio telescopes without moving parts. One LOFAR station will be built in Jülich.
