The Peter Grünberg Institute (PGI) unites two theoretical and seven experimental divisions and shares a common Technical and Administrative Infrastructure with the Jülich Centre for Neutron Science (JCNS). The heads of the divisions form the Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors manages the everyday business, draws up the research programme and determines PGI 's strategy. Each year the board elects one of its members as the Managing Director, who represents the Institute to third parties. In order to maintain continuity, the Head of Administration is also the Permanent Deputy Managing Director.
