At PGI we operate several computing clusters and personal computers to develop new theoretical methods and perform state-of-the-art computer experiments.
Calculations with high CPU-time requirements are performed at the Juelich Supercomputing Center (JSC). In particular the members of the institute use the Custer "JuRoPA" with 2208 Nodes of 8 cores each delivering a peak performance of 207 TFLOPS and the massively parallel Supercomputer "JUQUEEN" with 131072 cores and 1.6 PFLOPS. This system of type BlueGene/Q is among the worlds fastest supercomputers (No. 8 on Top500 6/2012).
