Bachelor, Master and Diploma projects
For its research towards molecule-based nanoelectronics, the department Functional Nanostructures at Surfaces permanently offers projects at Bachelor, Diploma and Master level. The projects are located in the research fields
- Ordering phenomena and self-assembly of molecules at complex organic-inorganic interfaces
- Electron correlations in organic adsorbates
- Structure and transport through nanostructures (STM)
- STM-based quantum transport through molecular wires

All our projects are funded by the program "Fundamentals of Future Information Technology", a strategic research initiative of the Helmholtz Gemeinschaft deutscher Forschungszentren, carried out by the Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ). The FZJ is the largest German research centre. It offers excellent opportunities for research in an international environment. Within the Jülich-Aachen Research Alliance (JARA), founded under the auspices of the German Excellence Initiative, it is closely linked to the RWTH Aachen.
