Since 2010, Forschungszentrum Jülich has been certified as "family-friendly" under the "audit berufundfamilie" scheme. We see this certificate as an affirmation of our commitment to equal opportunities and support all employees in combining a family and a career and aid them in achieving a good work-life balance. To this end, we have already implemented several measures and we are continuously revising and expanding these.
Flexible working hours
Finding personal solutions to the challenge of combining family and career requires parents and those caring for a family member to be flexible and to plan smartly. Forschungszentrum Jülich supports its employees with smart working time arrangements: flexitime, adhoc and long-term teleworking, and job sharing.
Dual Career Service
Forschungszentrum Jülich’s Dual Career Support is aimed at applicants for management-level positions in scientific institutes and subinstitutes and for executive positions in the technical and administrative infrastructure divisions, as well as their partners or spouses. With our services, we would like to support such dual-career couples by providing advice on options for combining family and partnership with a career.
Reliable and flexible childcare enables parents to return to their job at an earlier stage and to work more hours. We also provide options for dealing with childcare emergencies and offer services during school holidays and at events.
Advice and support for employees who care for a family member
Reconciling a career with caring for a family member is increasingly becoming a problem for employees. Forschungszentrum Jülich offers advice, support, and networking opportunities for employees who take care of a family member.
