Equal Opportunities Bureau
The Equal Opportunities Bureau was opened in 1999 and is active in making research with a family possible. It also ensures that Forschungszentrum Jülich’s guidelines on equal opportunities are implemented.
Since 2006, the head of the bureau also functions as the equal opportunities representative for staff at Forschungszentrum Jülich and is involved in all organizational measures related to personnel.
The bureau is active in a wide range of areas, including career advisory services, assistance finding childcare facilities, teleworking and further education and training.
The Equal Opportunities Bureau offers intensive advisory services for women, preparing them for a career in research and supporting them in getting there. It provides information on funding programmes and on job vacancies that suit an individual’s profile and also organizes special training and mentoring programmes.
Dual Career Service
Forschungszentrum Jülich’s Dual Career Support is aimed at applicants for management-level positions in scientific institutes and subinstitutes and for executive positions in the technical and administrative infrastructure divisions, as well as their partners or spouses. With our services, we would like to support such dual-career couples by providing advice on options for combining family and partnership with a career.
