Helmholtz Doctoral Prize for Jülich Materials Researcher
Jülich/Berlin, 23 September 2016 – Dr. Torsten Rieger is among the six recipients of this year’s Helmholtz Doctoral Prize. The materials researcher from the Peter Grünberg Institute received the award for the research field of key technologies during the annual conference of the Helmholtz Association in Berlin. Each of the recipients will receive prize money worth € 5,000 for their further research as well as € 2,000 per month for a research stay abroad lasting a maximum of six months.

Jülich Experts on the Climate Summit

The world conference on climate change starts in Paris at the end of November. The negotiations are based on the latest assessment report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), to which Jülich climate researchers also contributed. Modelling the Human Brain

To understand the human brain using simulation – that’s the vision of the Human Brain Project (HBP). In order to make it a reality, researchers from 23 countries are working together to build a unique infrastructure that will allow them to establish and further develop a brain research and information technology network.
