PET and MRI

Transversal (top) and coronal (bottom) PET (left) and MR (right) images of a patient with a brain tumour (arrow). The images of both modalities were recorded using the new 3-T MR-PET hybrid scanner. The images clearly prove that a hybrid scanner does not lead mutual disturbances between PET and MRI. The PET images were taken after the radioactively labelled amino acid 18F-fluorine-ethyl-tyrosine was injected.
