Excellence Prize and JuDocs 2018

In addition to awarding the Jülich Excellence Prize, Forschungszentrum Jülich honoured a total of 44 doctoral researchers at the 2018 JuDocs event. Dr. Barbara Gold, Dr. Maria Żurek, Dr. David Dahmen, and Dr. Nicolai Kallscheuer are the winners of this year’s Excellence Prize of Forschungszentrum Jülich and conduct their research in the fields of particle physics, biotechnology, brain research, as well as neutron scattering and soft matter.

Dr. Christoph Bäumer, Dr. Félix Urbain und Dr. Catalin Voiniciuc are the winners of this year’s Excellence Prize of Forschungszentrum Jülich. The three early-career scientists received the award, which is endowed with € 5,000, last Saturday during this year’s ceremony honouring Jülich’s successful doctoral researchers. Within the scope of the JuDocs 2017 event, Forschungszentrum Jülich said goodbye to 26 of its doctoral researchers who completed their theses in the previous year.

Jülich Excellence Prize 2016

Sarah Finkeldei, Sergii Pud, and Stephan Wirths have been honoured with Forschungszentrum Jülich’s 2016 Excellence Prize. The three early-career scientists received the accolade during the farewell ceremony for doctoral researchers "JuDocs – Karriere made in Jülich" on 17 September and talked about their work and experiences at Forschungszentrum.

At the event entitled "JuDocs – Karriere made in Jülich", a total of 39 doctoral researchers received their certificates on Saturday 17 September. During the event three early-career scientists have also been honoured with Forschungszentrum Jülich’s 2016 Excellence Prize.

End-of-Year Lecture 2014: Ion Migration

The Jülich end-of-year keynote lecture, which took place yesterday evening in the Rhineland Regional Museum (LVR-LandesMuseum), focused on data storage devices of the future and areas where they might be applied. This year’s Leibniz Prize winner Prof. Rainer Waser gave approximately 350 guests from politics, science, and industry insights into his research.
