European Research Area Networks ERA-NET
Bundle Europe’s scientific resources and thus strengthen the European Union’s competitiveness – this is the aim that the European Commission set when it launched the so-called ERA-NET projects in its 6th Research Framework Programme. The rationale is to better dovetail research funding at regional, national and European levels.
To realise this Europe-wide coordination of research programmes the Member States’ research management organisations are to join and carry out common calls. This will require an analysis of all the national funding programmes and procedures, the evaluation of the respective programme objectives and the drafting of a common strategic funding concept.
