The Central Library of Forschungszentrum Jülich regularly organizes specialist conferences and workshops.

Mission statement

The Central Library is a specialized library oriented towards the needs of its users and responsible for supplying information and literature for the work conducted at Forschungszentrum Jülich. It provides services in the fields of documentation, publication, information management, and information science.
Its task is to identify, respond to, and shape new developments.

Conferences and workshops are held every year.

A workshop on scientific translation is planned for 2015.

The next WissKom conference will take place from 14 to 16 June 2016. The conference programme will focus on going back to basics to move forward and will look at whether the triumph of open access will make libraries obsolete.

A workshop on bibliometrics is planned for 2017.
